While I like my Kili, I want to improve the armour for more abrasion
resistance.
Has anyone added hard armour to the jacket or attached skid patches to the
outside?
Any ideas?
Thx, Don

With some duct tape you could probably try what this guy did...

Wear a motorcross chest protector underneath it, with hard elbow pads
attached. I wear this under my Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket for off-roading.
Since I have to ride about 75mi to get to where I am trail riding, I need the
abrasion protection. This combo flows enough air to be comfortable on the
hottest days while only going 15mph in the woods.
In the colder weather, I wear the motorcross armour over my Vanson jacket.

Tha options...
-DualStar offers a lowered sidestand.
-Street legal knobs will raise the KLR enough to not need to shorten the
stand. (depending on which size lowlinks you bought, I can't say that this
will work with the 1.5 inch drops)
-Don Beck has a neat do it yourself shortening kit, that he includes with his
links.
-On the first set of links I tried, (Quality R&D 1.5's) I had a welder friend
cut down my stock sidestand about a half inch, worked fine.
Alternating between 1 inch and 3/4 inch drop links with street legal knobs
now, the stock length sidestand works fine for me. All best
