subject: 500 mile service, valves not adjusted

I bought my 2000 with 340 miles. Talked with two different Kawi mechanics and both said to wait until 2500 miles. When I did the valves at 3K I had one slightly tight exhaust valve, the rest just in range. Reshimmed 'em all and will check at 7.5K maybe even 10K. What's a good second valve check mileage?
