acerbis handguard mounting?

Hi, I'd like to add better handguards to my '99KLR, mainly to protect the levers in a fall. In a quick look, the metal-reinforced Acerbis don't seem to fit very well. I'm assuming this one product is made for a bunch of different bikes. Anyone mounted these? Are the all-plastic Acerbis a better fit? Thanks, Rod

i've been using them for a few years and they've protected me and my handlebars/levers countless times, including today. they're well worth the money. _pete -----Original Message----- From: furmanski@... Acerbis don't seem to fit very well. I'm assuming this one product is made for a bunch of different bikes. Anyone mounted these? Are the all-plastic Acerbis a better fit? Got 'em on both my bike and my wife's bike. Just stay away from the clear ones. Look cool, but they shattered way easy. Still protecting the levers but I've got to dremel the rest of the plastic off. I don't actually KNOW it is because they are clear but I seem to remember someone else having this problem with the clear ones. The black ones have taking just as many hard beatings and haven't cracked at all. dat brooklyn bum
