any super sherpa owners out there?

Post by hstrong@electrip.com » Thu Aug 09, 2001 6:12 pm

I have about 6000 miles on my sherpa. I love how small it is in the woods and the fact that in a mud hole I can just walk it on through because of the low seat height. Sometimes I wish the handle bars were a little higher though. I am about 5'11" tall. I went through a set of rear brake pads and bearings at 4000 miles. I know it looks dorky having the front fender low, but I like it because it seems to work pretty well. I added some halogen fog lights below the main headlamp they are wired into the high beam power. They help out a lot, especially in the woods. I replaced the tires at 5300 miles with chen shin. There are few tires that will fit the small width rims, and I decided on these because of the good knobbies and super low cost. They are much softer than the trailwings that came on the bike. I know they will have to be replaced sooner, but two sets costs the same as one of the oem bridgestones. They give a softer ride as well. I do wish that the bike some more power and supposedly there is a dynojet in development. Or maybe I should just beat it up and then have it bored out and replated. I love how quiet the bike is, a nice feature with respect to respecting others in the woods. The police have not been after me like they were back in high school on two strokes. Another thing that kind of sucks about the bike is the way that the turn signals are mounted to the frame. The metal is formed so that when you wipe out the force is released near where the mount is welded to the frame for rear and headlight cage for the front. I have a feeling that during one of my fixit bending sessions it will have catastrophic failure.
