klr vs nx650 ?

Post by SPEEDBAR@webtv.net » Fri Aug 03, 2001 6:11 pm

Hello all. Been lurking here for for a few weeks and have got the bug for a single cyl. bike which would be my first single. The KLR would be my first choice but today I spotted a very nice NX650 ('89) with extras and low miles. Any previous / present NX owners out there with pros, cons versus the KLX? My riding would consist of 90% pavement and 10% dirt. Thanks for any comments. Steve '94 R1100RS S.C.

dynocalc horsepower calculation software

Post by IronJungle@Hotmail.com » Fri Aug 03, 2001 6:19 pm

We just finish the DynoCalc SW. Many thanks to those that helped with the beta testing. The results from the software correlated surprisingly well with actual dyno readouts. You can download the software at: http://www.IronJungle.Com Give it a try and Email us if you can suggest an improvement. Discription of DynoCalc: DynoCalc determines horsepower by measuring the time to accelerate and to de-accelerate a known weight, such as a car or motorcycle. DynoCalc takes the time to de-accelerate the vehicle from a high speed to a low speed and uses this information to establish the drag characteristics on the vehicle; wind, rolling resistance, etc. DynoCalc also takes the time to accelerate the vehicle from a low speed to a high speed and used this to calculate the force provided by the engine. DynoCalc uses this information, with the laws of physics, to calculate horsepower. DynoCalc is best suited to determine and track relative horsepower. For example, how much horsepower is gained from a performance upgrade. Runs with any version of MicroSoft Windows
