rpm vs mph

I have barely 1000 miles on my A15, but it seems to me that when I get in the higher RPM's of 4th or 5th gear and crank the throttle, the MPH increase does not seem to correspond much to the RPM increase, almost as if the clutch was slipping. (Yes, I know the RPM's will increase more than the MPH at any given acceleration) The bike was just serviced a few days ago, I don't believe any adjustments were made to the clutch... I would assume it would be unusual for a clutch to slip on a bike this new? Or is this just something unique to this type of thumper? Jeff
