experience? Motoport (Difi) Ultra one-piece riding suit. (Now the Ultra II). This thing is 1050 ballistic Cordura throughout. Comes with pads in: back, elbow to wrist, shoulder, collarbone/chest, hip, knees. I've had it for 8 years. It washes up good as new. It's been in two accidents; one at 20 mph, and one at 40 mph. In both cases, I was not injured at all. The suit shows very slight abrasion from sliding along. When I try to show people, I usually have a hard time finding the marks. I highly recommend this suit. Cheaper than a 'stich, better padding stock, and you don't have to send it back for repairs every time it hits the ground. -Ben

Glenn, I regularly use my one piece Tourmaster armored suite, but I can't give you an honest report on its crash worthiness, I haven't laid the bike down since I bought the suit. I bought the Tourmaster because it seemed to offer what I was looking for, protection, water proof, cold weather liner, washable, and last but not least, the price was not at the top of the scale compared to other options. hmm. i do it just about every day. i've done it for years. i've never even had a close call. i typically don't go more than about 10-20mph faster than traffic, and never faster than about 35 or so, so i have plenty of time to react. i've never observed anyone get cranky about it either. lots of people (a surprising number) see me coming and move over to give me extra room. i'm glad i don't live where where Eric does. sounds like there are lots of cranky people there. -mark weaver santa rosa ca
