throttle cable loose - this ok?

Hey all.
Quick question. Last week I noticed the cable attachment that goes
into the throttle, right where it meets the handlebar (and another
cable comes in) is a little loose and actually pops back and forth
into it's slot when I rotate the throttle. There's a rubber sleeve
over both of these cable sockets
a) Is this normal?
b) If not, is it ok to leave it this way?
c) If not, what's the best way to re-secure it? Without digging too
far under the rubber sleeve it doesn't appear as there's a tightening
screw (like I said, I didn't look too close).
d) Should I have someone check the entire cable system to make sure
everything is ok in there? The bike has about 3600 miles (got it in
January)
Any help or ideas would be welcome

I don't know the exact spec for throttle free play, but I had the same
problem with my A15.
Pull the rubber sleeves down the cable to expose the adjustors. Hold the
cable housings into their sockets, and twist the throttle with your
other hand. How much does the grip move before you can feel the
throttle actually opening? Usually, the flange of the grip should move
past the switchgear housing about 3-4mm before anything happens at the
carb.
You just loosen the large wheels that lock the adjustors, then turn out
the inner part to take some of the slack in the cable. Then, tighten the
locking wheels again. Too loose is better than too tight, but loose
enough for the cable end to fall out of the socket is too much.

hey, anyone in OC want to accompany me on a ride in
the OC area? I'll be down there in August and could
really use a riding partener or two... or four.
Thanks.
