mikuni carb question

Post by Barry Castetter » Sat Jul 07, 2001 12:31 am

First post here. I've been a "lurker for a while". Great list! Today I received and installer by new 38MM Mikuni Carb kit. (thanks for the fast service Fred). I was so tired of my old CV carb letting me down I had to do it. Boy what a difference! I have the bottom end I never had before. Twist the gas and IT GOES! Front wheel comes up now without much effort. I finally got rid of that POP POP POP sound under engine breaking. Tried everything with the CV carb but it never went away. I install this right out of the box an it's gone! I am also thankfull to never have to mess with the "coasting enricher cable" plastic nut on the side of the CV carb. Who's brainchild was that?! I do however have a question for those who run this carb. DO you have any clearance issues on the bottom? Mine is extremely close to the starter if not touching it. I am fearful that the vibration could possible crack the bowl if left that way. Any thoughts? Barry __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
