After several years of street only motorcycles, I am returning to my
dual purpose roots. Much research continues to point to klr for kind
of riding I plan to do (no long trips, mostly puttering about back
road exploring, power line and fire road type trails). Klr weight is
a concern to me, so how much wieght can be shed? Pipe must be worth
some poundage, as well as the huge tank. Personally I don't need a
300? mile range on any bike, as my skinny ass is crying for relief
after about 2 hours (even in a car). Who makes plastic tanks that
will fit, again, willing to sacrifice some volume for weight? Saw
one in the chapparal catalog for a klx, about 4 gallons if I remember
right--will KLX parts interchange? Any other weight loss ideas, even
if they are of the "get a KTM" variety are appreciated.
Thanks for letting me ramble on.
