I wonder why it is that KTM is the only company that sells a motard-like bike here in the 'states. Or maybe it's outside of Japan? I dunno -- does anyone know of a non-KTM motard that's sold outside of Japan? BTW, I saw an ad in the Feb. issue of "Rider's Club" (Kakiuchi, about pg 9) that included a Suzuki motard based presumably on the DR650 called the 'XF650'. I know it wouldn't make it to these shores with that name, but what else could be keeping it? OTOH, maybe Kakiuchi does custom fab type stuff and the XF650 is their creation. But then why show it on a page otherwise filled with stockers? I'm just too lazy to dig out the dictionary... -- Cloyce Austin, TX
In the UK motard (Supermoto) bikes seem to be gaining in popularity. A British company called CCM do a bike based around the Rotax lump. http://www.ccm-motorcycles.com Kawasaki do an SM bike (for the Jap market) based around the KLX250SR lump called the D-Tracker. I don't have any links and I'm not even sure whether it's still made ...
