favorite dirt mods?

Took advantage of Spring Break and header the KLR to some dirt
roads/trails in 70+ weather this afternoon. After crashing around on
some decent rocks it made me think seriously about mods for dirt that
will increase the machines survivability. What sre the quickest add
on's or modifications that will keep my green beast happy out here in
the desert. I've put on bark busters and steel pugs, I'm thinking a
stronger shifter and a big bash plate. Thoughts or suggestions?
Also those crappy plugs in my stock exhaust snapped when I tried to
pull them at 3000 miles. Thought I'd get them out and put some anti-
sieze on them but it was too late )+:
