Hey Fellow KLRers... My 2000 KLR650 predictably began whistling dixie at 3000kms. A common characteristic of this thumper, I've heard drilling an 1/8th inch hole within the baffle via one of the drain bolt holes will cure this chronic disease. I'm willing to try this, but not without feedback. To be honest, which of the two holes? At a mere 4200kms, an aftermarket baffle/exhaust isn't on my financial agenda yet. However, I'm willing to do just about anything to dampen this. Thanks for your suggestions, Bruce

The other day I saw a 2000 KLR driving towords me as it came closer I heard the Bird. Is was a nasty sound. I have 3000 miles on my A15 and no bird yet. I'm not looking forword to it.

Yeah, it's not pretty. Mines been doing it for awhile now. I even drilled 2 holes in the back of my muffler to see if that would fix it - nope! I even tried a SuperTrapp EAR muffler but that was too loud for me. I've learned to live with it. TTYL Karl

I suppose that in KLR parlance, giving someone "the bird" means giving them an earful of stock muffler. Mister_T
