I was told by a coworker that he could get a A15 KLR650 for
dealer cost. Any one know what this might be. Local retail is
about $4300 - 4500 and they are not willing to deal. Not that I
need another bike but I would like to know.

If that's what your local retail is, you are already
buying back of retail, which should be around $5000...

Maybe I am just feeling a little sensative today but I was wondering
if the pull your head out of your ass statement was to encourage
people to ride with vigilance or as an appropriate way to try and
end a discussion by saying that people that disagree with you are
idiots.
The question of stopping distance is interesting. I would like to see
some measured distances. I need to look in Motorcycle Consumer News
(U.S.)they do 60-0 stopping distances and an auto enthusiast magazine,
like Car and Driver, to find one that does 60-0 stopping. Then we
have numbers to compare. I don't know the answer but would like to,
someday.

ride, and with gas at $3.30USD/gallon here in Brazil
could only afford the little Honda 125's that are
everywhere)
