As a new onwer of a a15, just wondering what the water temp gauge
normally runs at, ambient temp around 4c to 12c. Mine tends to heat
up high going to just this side of the thick line on the gauge, and
then cools right down to a little less than half on the gauge. This
tends to happen usually first time when started cold, Electric fan
seems too come on at a little past 3/4 on the gauge. Just wondering if
this is normal, my other bikes have all been a/cooled. thanks Tony.

Tony,
I drive an A9 and it does the same. When the engine is cold it heats
up to 2/3 of full scale and then drops down to 1/4 scale as if the
thermostat opened up. While stopped at traffic lights it heats up
until the fan turns on which I think is 3/4 full stroke.
I think everything is OK on your bike.
Take Care,
Brad

The eTrex is all I have ever used. I use it on the KLR, hiking, biking and in my truck. I don't use the handle bar mount though, I wasn't sure it would meet my demanding needs in the arena of vibration resistance and overall strength, but I do hope it works well for you. I have had my eTrex in the water, heavy dust, bright sunlight for hours and dropped, but have never had fail. Take a look at my site for how I mounted it to the KLR if your interested...
