Attachments :I've been off list for awile and you guys moved to Yahoo (or Yahoo moved for you). I got my 7 gallon IMS tank today. Ordered it in October and they forgot about it, but I got it for the old price $199. First impressions. it weighs 10.5 lbs with cap and another 1/2 lb for the mounting hardware (11 lbs total). Quality on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 7 or 8. 1 being junk and 10 being perfect. I haven't checked the capacity to see if it's a full 7 gallons or the fit. It's in color G3 transparent green. it has one petcock in the standard position and will need skips mod to get at the extra fuel capacity. It may be another month or so when I have more info the the capacity and fit. It looks like it will a little better then the stock shroud. Like if you just lay it down on it's side while your parked. But if you go down at a good speed (mph) I dont think it will help

This looks as though the tank serves as the radiator shrouds i.e. one piece. Is this correct? steve davis

Attachments :Yes it replaces the shrouds. Here is a picture of the U.S. Marines KLR with the IMS tank.

Nice looking bike... Any idea what headlamp surround is used because i'd quite like to replace the standard on on my A1 with one of those. -- Andy - Southampton ,UK

Thanks Gino, well the intention is to do some fairly serious off-road riding come the better weather. The standard fairing is very nice but i'm not sure what it's chances are of survival. Plus, the standard one makes it very easy to go quite fast as it relieves the wind blast.. I could do with just the headlight surround to make up for my lack of throttle regulation Regards, Andy - Southampton, UK.

You could ask Dual Star if they know where you can get one. They sell the old tanks and shrouds that were taken off those KLR's.
