I just got my magneto puller from the dealer..
Guess what?? It's not the right freeking size.. Oh man I hate it when
this happens. Abviously that cute girls behind the counter should not
work at the parts section.
uuuuhhhhhhhggggggg.....but she's cute... oh well
N-e-way. I ordered the magneto puller but when I got home I noticed
that on the package it says flywheel puller with threads ( 20mm x 1.5)
Do i need this on the KLR or the flywheel comes off once the
magneto(stator) is out.
What are the correct size threads for the magneto puller??

Maybe she did it on purpose. Go back and talk to her. You don't get
an invitation/excuse like that every day.

So. let me get this straight.
I need a puller for the magneto/stator. Then when the magneto is out I need
a puller for the flywheel.. right??
The magneto puller is a bolt that bolts on the magneto and pushes on the
crankshaft.
Is the flywheel puller the same method butis of smaller size??
What I got is a bolt but too small to thread in the magneto, it goes right
through..
Thanks for the help. This is not clear or not at all in the shop manual. Or
I didn't find it? What page is it on?

I liked him cuz he gave me hope. He was a privateer running a production
class KTM (off the showroom floor for those who don't know). He didn't have
a support team so he did all his own mechanical work and carried everything
he needed in a backpack. He was running in like 14th overall up until he
crashed out in the 19th stage. (Sorry if you haven't seen it on tape yet).
Broke his wrist and separated his shoulder. He was already running with a

nose. Speedvision didn't give any more info than that but he finished that
stage. He also was seen shifting by hand because his shift lever broke off
at the housing. Shifting by hand and still passing some of the factory/pro
riders.
Best moment : Speedvision had their onboard cam/mic setup with Johnny
Campbell and he's talking about how different Dakar is from racing "back
home". Just then PG Lundmark goes flying by him like JC was on a Dual Sport
ride. Johnny says, "There goes PG...just gotta let him go he rides so
fast...he's got something to prove."
