Agreed. The needle in my bike played up early in its life, somewhere around 1988 I think. I replaced the needle and it's been fine ever since. Mister_T

Sounds to me like a particle of matter is holding open your float valve. Make sure you have a decent inline filter on the fuel supply line from the tank. I suggest you remove your carb and give it a through cleaning. The smallest piece of matter (generally a fleck of rust) will hold the float valve open allowing fuel to flow out the float bowl vent and any other opening available, maybe even to the point of an empty tank. Good luck! == Rev. Chuck :^)>+ A13 http://klr650.50megs.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _____________________________________________________________

Hi Chris: I will be on the road touring for 2 years after my purchase, so the selling dealer won't be where I'm at when/if I need warranty work. The 1 year standard warranty won't even be any good, after I cross the Mexican border, within 7 months of purchase anyway. The warranty is for North America, but even though Mexico and Central America are in North America, it's no good south of the border. At least, that is the way I remember it. A benefit of owning a beemer, I've been told, is their warranty is good anywhere in the world. That's a comforting feeling to the owner of a new bike adventure touring the world. Later.
