finding mobil1 bike oil / nklr

Post by e. rhoads » Thu Oct 19, 2000 4:04 pm

Have any luck buying the motorcycle Mobile 1 at reasonable prices? I havn't been able to find it at any discount autoparts places... Thanks! ====== I wasn't actually looking for it. I just posted for the list in case someone was interested, but since you ask.... Mobil1 motorcycle-specific oil is apparently not widely available. According to the underpowered Mobil dealer locator the only retail outlet that is shown carrying it is Auto Zone. Service outlets include Penske, Honda dealerships and some others. You can buy it from them online. The 6-pack price listed is $47. I don't know what shipping would cost. I understand there may be an additional UPS cost for shipping hazardous materials. This sounds like a drag. But there's another way. Triumph specifies Mobil1 for their bikes. It is specifically labeled for Triumph, so it's Triumph oil, made by Mobil. Triumph won't say but their oil is probably exactly Mobil1 10-40 motorcycle oil. So you could try a Triumph dealership. The dealership you go to may very well have decided to substitute Mobil1 MX4T 10-40 for the official Triumph oil, which my local dealer did. The dealer price here is $8 per quart. Mobile1 also makes what they call a V-twin oil. Has higher heat stability. It's Mobil1 V-Twin 20w-50. eric
