Depends on what Jaime is really talking about. Neither the camcover or cylinder head use "studs", just bolts. Inch pounds is for camcover bolts, foot pounds is for cylinder head bolts. My KLR650C manual shows the torque for the cylinder head bolts as 48ft-lbs, wheras my KLR650A manual shows 48in-lbs. 48in-lbs doesn't seem like enough for 10mm bolts, especially to clamp down the head gasket and keep compression and water separated.
