Hello Gang: I recently installed a Dynojet Kit, and ISD2 exhaust on my A15. No real problems with either. I cut the rear muffler spacer (supplied by Supertrapp) down to about 5/8". It was 1 1/2" originally. At 5/8", it centered the pipe between the fender and side cover and generally fit better. I was astounded to find that the front carb clamp had never been installed. Dynojet suggests that the idle mixture screw be set at 3 1/2 turns out. I thought this was extreme and set mine at 2 1/2. After putting a couple of hundred miles on the setup, I got around to checking my exhaust levels. I was running over 4% CO (carbon monoxide). High CO is a result of rich air/fuel mixture. Most non- catalytic vehicles are generally happiest with CO running 2% and lower. I ended up somewhere around 1 1/2 turns out. My final reading was about 1.5% CO and HC (hydrocarbons) of about 80 parts per million. With the new setting, idle is crisper and and off idle acceleration is crisper. It doesn't sound or feel as "mushy". The next time I'm fooling around with the carb, I will count the turns and report it if anybody is interested. Ron

Ditto. ST-IDS2 and Dynojet kit. The stock setting on my carb's idle screw was 1 1/2 turns out. I set it to 3 turns instead of the 3 1/2 recommended (I live at 7000 feet). Haven't had a chance yet to run the bike on the street since I'm still waiting on a rear axle sleeve to arrive from Kawasaki. (remember my question about bearings? The spacer was left off...:( So much for someone else working on my bike.

=8^O .... Gee, I guess I'm going to reset it back to the stock ~1-1/2~ setting too, eh?

Like I said, This was about where mine was set from the factory. I guess they do know what they're doing after all....(:^)

One time I was riding through a town with a bunch of gear on my KLR about ten in the morning when nature called in a big way, like when the kindergarten teacher wanted you to hold up two fingers instead of just one. Spotting a small city park with bathrooms, I ran the bike to the curb and ran off, headed for relief, just a hundred feet away. Moments later, and much relieved, felling all relaxed and looking forward to a nice ride through the Sierra Nevada, I put the key in and turned it to the On position but no lights lit up. So off came all the gear (had to get under the seat and at the tools in the rack) and as the sun beat down I checked battery, sidestand switch, et cetera, while building up a grand sweat. I had been certain the bike was in neutral, rolling it a tad to be sure. While checking the clutch cut-out the bike started all of a sudden....Oooops...it was in a neutral between second and third gear! All in all, 45 minutes wasted, and broke a great sweat, but further relieved to find out it was my own stupidity! When I finally cooled off I felt much better. Moral? Shift with authority and decisiveness, and don't forget the toilet paper. Bathroo..I mean, Backroad Bill
