What would cause premature sprocket wear? I just got a new sprocket about 7k
miles ago and it seems to be wearing fast.. I felt a skip on my way to work this
morning and thought the chain might be loose. Looked at it when i got to work
and it looks like it's the sprocket wearing down.
What gives?

Well, a worn chain will certainly accelerate sprocket wear. Poor
wheel alignment won't help, either.

Hey Dale,
If you 'old' sprocket was 'worn out' (sprocket wear is caused by a
worn/stretched chain) and you didn't replace the chain... well,
there's the 'rub' that caused rapid wear of the 'new' sprocket.

I replaced the chain and sprocket.

Hi Dale,
Just a few thoughts.
Poor alignment.
Poor adjustment.
Soft sprocket material (Poor quality control)
I do not consider 7k rapid wear if you ride hard.
Thought about a Sidewinder, should last forever?!
I am looking at mine after 5K, don't think it will last much longer, but I
tend to er on changing early.

Attachments :If you preset your scanner at 72dpi (or ppi) and size them 4 to 5" on
the longest side before scanning them, you can save them as medium
quality jpg's and they will be 30k to 100k each, and still look pretty
good. I never have liked what gif does to a picture, and sometimes the
crap resulting from converting to gif is larger than a jpg would be.

As soon as I figure out how to shrink the size of my pics. JPG's are
500k
each. If I save in GIF and decrease the colour depth, I get white
dots all
over my pics, but the filesize if slightly more manageable. I've got
about
20+ pics picked out to scan, but that's a 10 meg download if someone
is
gonna sit and view them all. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
