The Guzzi Quota is still in the stable but Kimberly says it sucks bigtime for the
passenger...Found a nice price on a '98 Connie and went for it...so, all you
KLR/Connie owners count me in...

Well, I just bought a Connie about a month ago because I felt a need for a
bike to burn up serious highway miles. Mines an 1986, silver, 42K miles on
the odo, with enough body work damage to put a grin on a dealers face. I
bought it condition unknown for $750 and had to drive it home. Quickly
found out that the clutch needs new return springs, and that the fan relay
needs to be replaced. Had to drive it home in rush hour traffic, not FUN!
Makes my KLR feel like a ballet drancer, but I appreciate the 90 bhp on
the highway. Need to fix the luggague as well as the left hand bag
decided to make a jump for it at 65 mph on the 14 st bridge in
Wash,DC... THE scariest experience of my life retrieving my bag, walking
into traffic on 66E at 8 pm to pick up my bag. Hell my life's worth more
than $750! By it should be a fun winter project. I would love to hear who
else has gone the kawi route exclusively!

And if there are any Connie shoppers out there my riding buddy has one for sale.
I forget the model year but it is an earlier one and I think he wants a little
less than $4k. It is a nice bike but his wife has not been riding with him much
and he needs to sell it to finance the purchase of an A14 from one of our friends
who won one of the F650s at the BMWMOA rally this year. I have pictures of it on
my other PC and can get details. The bike is in Dayton, OH.

Sweeeet! Love that Connie. Did a 442 mile day on the Connie yesterday with fellow COGGER Warren Raber from Federal Way WA... the road hwy 142 from Goldendale, Goldendale hwy and Troutlake hwy, FR 23 past MT Adams, FR 90, FR 25 past Mt St Helens coming out on HWY 12 at Randle WA was a set of fantastic sickle roads. We started on hwy 410 east from Tacoma area thru Mt Ranier, down to Yakima and up on the plateau west of Yakima, downtown to hwy 97 south to Goldendale.
That and 5 hrs on the trails in the Capital Forest on the KLX and Paul on the TT 500 near Olympia Wa Sat.. what a great weekend and the weather held off til I got home 9:30 PM sun too!
The KLR needs a workout so thats next? Yeeehaw!

OK, I am interested in a Connie now. I was looking at one when I bought
the KLR. Do they have a list such as ours to gather info?

Great! I want to see that Connie go around the White Rim, Kurt

Maybe you can team up with the BMW R1150GS that never breaks! The
Connie is probably lighter to boot!
