No offense taken. We kicked the British out of the United States over 200
years ago. We were sick of the monarchy and wanted to form our own
government. Things have changed for the better now, I love the British,
after all they gave us 007 and the Monty Pythons Flying Circus, what more
can one ask for. Any one who flames you for those jokes just tell them you
will be forced to say "Nee", or change them into a newt, don't worry they'll
get better.

Yeah, but when we found this place, the explorers looked around at a culture
that was friendly, sharing, paid no taxes, and had the women doing most of
the work while the men hunted and fished. "We can do better than that" said
the white man and look where it's gotten us.

I am glad you qualified that with the smirky face. Truth is, this
country's problems would be resolved quickly if women were put in
charge. It would be a good idea if men weren't taught how to speak
and
just kept at home for... services to women.

Ahemmmmm........................quickly? I thought the list
'resolved quickly' that gravel road access was unrelated and too
inflammatory for the klr list. Now we're doing race and gender? Who
started this one?

Pretty easy to tell from the dry sarcasm.

Tsk tsk, it's that kind of sexism that the males of our species have
used to excuse their dominance and abuse of it. We men are bad, but
it's not just the men, it's all of us. It is evidenced in the women
as well with their need to dominate the men in return. A truly
enlightened species, of either gender, would not seek revenge on the
other. Both would realize that petty sqabbles only slow us down, be
it over gender, skin tone, or creed.
Womens Lib is a good idea. It's just when they go to far, saying they
DESERVE anything more than anyone else based simply upon a few minor
biological differences, that they become a laughingstock and set
their own vaunted ideals on their ear.
Now then, can we get back to discussing KLR's?

Unfortunately, I don't have time to do a detailed report on the
Shenandoah 500, but I will say that the weather was great(down in the
20's Sunday morning), the trails and woods roads challenging(at least
for me), more whoop de doos and hairpin turns than you can count,
endlessly changing surface conditions, rode about 250 miles in two days,
saw about a dozen people fixing tires(lots of stones and rocks), and I
am still grinning from ear to ear. Didn't have a camera, so no pictures
do I have. Ask when you see me and I will fill in the details. Later.
