Which Gripsters are the best for about 70% on-road and 30% off-road? I am also concerned about having a good tire for the wet roads. Avon Gripster AM24. 80% street, 20% dirt. The Gripster doesn't "stick" on certain types of slick asphalt when the surface has a sort of "burnished" look to it, but it works well with clean concrete surfaces and rougher asphalts. Not sure how else to describe it, but have ridden them for about 30,000 miles and am happy with them. I agree they are slick in mud, but if there is aggregate in the mud then they snag pretty well.
