I understand the feeling. However, that's not really a marketing ploy. It's pricing psychology. For many people, $4499 LOOKS like a lot less money than $4500. Hence, they get excited more quickly, which accelerates the buying process. Irrational, but true. A marketing ploy would be all accessories in the dealership's parts department offered at the sales department's cost the day you take delivery of the bike. It worked on me when I bought my ST1100, a bike for which I had a list of pricey add-ons. Chris "A Sucker for a Pretty Deal" Lawson> Why the heck do they list it as 4499?!?
