Apologies for not posting this to the files section of e-groups but its blocked from work. If anyone wants to do this please feel free. I'm mostly color blind so I can't go by colors so bare with me please... The KLR started out with a K&N filter newly cleaned and oiled. Oil is Honda 20/50 4-stroke changed with about 1K miles on it. Tires are Avon Gripsters with about 2.5K miles on them. Gearing is 16/43. From the bottom reading horsepower: - Line 1: Trapp w/ 6 plates (I think without dynojet kit) - Line 2: Trapp w/ 16 plates, dynojet 150 main, 4th notch - line 3: Pulsator w/ #5 rear plate, dynojet 150 main, 5th notch - line 4: Pulsator w/o rear plate, dynojet 150 main, no airbox cover, 5th notch Horsepower/Torque in case the lines get in your way: Line 1 Max: 34.3 hp / 33.4 ft/lb Line 2 Max: 39.2 hp / 36.0 ft/lb Line 3 Max: 42.5 hp / 38.9 ft/lb Line 4 Max: 43.0 hp / 41.9 ft/lb What is significant is the "Pulsator" with rear plate is about the same db reading as the SuperTrapp with 6 plates. The sound is very different though. Much smoother. Additionally, look at the torque increase between lines 1 and 3 at about 4,000 rpm. Notice the Trapp with 6 plates torque readings from off-idle as compared with the Pulsator. The lines are also alot less spikey with the Pulsator. Steve worked on the bike for about two weeks and these were the best results he could tune out of the bike with each exhaust setting. He is working on a spark arrestor for the system now. Oh yes, the system is totally mechanical so no re-packing. Price will be dependent on wether he goes with a SS or aluminum model. Hi Jim, This is good stuff. That new muffler looks like it may really be a power producer!! I'll look forward to hearing more about the system. What S-Trapp model did you use for the first tests? Mine was an IDS-2 Quiet. I'll anxious to hear more on how your bike runs out in the world. Judging from the dyno curves, it should be great. The max numbers on your line two seem to be about what I got with my mods. The dyno curves are shaped a little differently though. Maybe it's due to my different air box mods. Thanks for the info.
