Henry, That's interesting that the back would feel like it wanted to wash out, usually its the front. You have enough weight to the rear? Punch the throtle alot? Side slope maybe?.........at a steady throttle with your weight back, seated it shoudln't be to radical........ I'd of course let a few pounds of air out of the tires.........say to 18 rear. Checkout the Bridgestone TW41-42's. They don't last long.....but what does? ...and they handle twistes sweeeeeeetly. Slide Henry (Terry) Brigham wrote:

the dunlop mt21's are about as aggressive ("motocross"-like) as you can get street-legal. however, dunlop makes another tire with a similar name (mt-something?) that's kinda intermediate. i'd suggest no less aggressive than that if you really want to grip with any satisfaction in sand. that being said, i really like the avon gripsters on the street (super-sticky), and they will get you around in the sand if you have a reasonable amount of skill. be warned, however. the klr is not a dirt bike, and any amount of knobbies on the tires make a great difference. _pete -----Original Message----- From: Henry (Terry) Brigham [mailto:hbrigiii@...] Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2000 8:38 PM To: DSN_klr650@egroups.com Subject: [DSN_klr650] Help with tires Hi, folks. Do not go with the Dunlop Trailmax then, cause you will be picking yourself up from the ground most of the time. But there great on the road!!!! Van A7

I like my KLR! I really do! but.... It is a dual sport. And a Kawasaki no less! I would much prefer to replace my half spent rear MT21 rather than spend neary 60 dollars on wax! How about using some good old zip wax car wash after each oil change?? http://www.zymol.com/talon2.htm Joe
