I love fall. Every week morning I wake up at 5:30. Most peoples first
thoughts would be, "I hate getting up and going to work." Some of the
reasons for this thought are: I hate diving in traffic, I have to long a
drive, etc. Well I am a blessed. I live in southern Indiana. I work at
Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana. Fall here is beautiful and the
weather is great. I just bought a 1999 KLR650. I have a 30 mile commute to
work every morning and back home again. I have several options on roads
that I can ride. First is probably the least attractive of them all, HWY
37. Although it is the least attractive it is still a pleasant ride. It
offers several views of hills full of trees and valleys with creeks running
through. Not bad! Next is 446. This road is listed as one of the most
scenic in the country. Not only are the views scenic but it has several
twisties. The traffic on this road is almost existent. I once saw two
cars. Plus it has been repaved, not that it need it. Also, about 5 miles
from Bloomington there is a causeway that is about a quarter of a mile long
crossing Lake Monroe. John Mellancamps house is just of this causeway on
the shore of the lake. There is another road it is equally great but I
won't mention it for fear of making all of you to jealous. I ride about
three times a week. The KLR is a great bike for this purpose. Well I guess
that is all. I just thought that I would share this with all of you.
