Actually, the CA clean air system collects all closed tank vapors and runs them through the engine to burn. It does'nt hurt any thing (no performance cost except weight).

I would be happy to provide this information on my site, if you provide me a link to the photos and the text to go along with them and some indication of performance post removal. I will of course give you credit. I have read several places that the bike runs rougher, runs at a higher temperature and/or starts harder after similar modifications. I do live in CA so I *cannot* remove the system for on highway use but I can share the process with others... == Rev.
