Guys- I concur with the above. On my last ride gotta flat and upon reassembly encountered e roads exact situation. The above procedure fixed it 'mostly' In my case one of the rear pads was worn enough to allow its applicator post to nearly over-extend. Bottomline is that this caused the one pad to go cock-eyed.....the rear of the pad would contact first......and the pair would never let the disc spin loose when not applied. New pads fixed mine.
