Hi all, day two of my KLR650 Ownership!. First I want to say thanks to everyone who regularly posts on this list, I have learned so much from you about the KLR650 in advance of purchasing the bike, I went in with my eyes wide open. I have been reading the list for a month or two and it really helped me make the decision to whether to buy or not. First Impressions: 1. Front Brake - Works awesome, too much front dip. Definitly need the progressive springs...soon, but don't see the need for braided steel lines, maybe things loosen up as the brakes wear in??? 2. Back Brake - What were they thinking? Hard to get at for my feet, I need a brake pedal that sticks up another 1/2" to 1" higher. any suggestions? 3. Power - Nice, very nice. 4. License Plate - I have totally destroyed the toy plate the dealer puts on the KLR, again WHAT was Kawasaki thinking? WAYYY too close to the rear tire, this will be the first Mod I do. 5. Skid or Bash plate - Again what was Kawasaki thinking? A plastic plate? My second mod, no doubt. 6. Smile - Can't seem to get this silly grin off my face. Any suggestions? other than the bill for the mod supplies... Thanks again, Ed
