novice mechanic report/mixture screw plug: drilled it!

Post by Tumu Rock » Thu Sep 07, 2000 3:52 am

Well, I finally went and got deep into the bike (for me). Removed a bunch of plastic, the seat, and the gas tank to get at that pesky little mixture screw plug. Got to it and drilled it out. No problems to speak of. Got rid of most of the backfire I was experiencing during engine braking and shifting. I feel like I'm ready to tackle the valve adjustment now that I've seen first hand where the infamous valve cover lives. If there are any novice mechanics out there (like me)...do not fear for there is potential behind your fear. Biggest lesson of the day: pay attention to hose routing when removing the gas tank so you don't pinch any lines during re-installation. dat brooklyn bum _______________________________________________________ Say Bye to Slow Internet! http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html
