countershaft sprocket questions
Hi all
Upon investigating the countershaft sprocket on my A3, some things seem amiss. The only thing securing the sprocket to the countershaft is an E clip in a groove. That is there are only three pieces there- sprocket, shaft and E clip. The sprocket is free to move side to side on the splines. Should there be some sort of shim or spacer arrangement to hold the sprocket in place laterally? Anyone got a web address for someone I might get the needed parts from?

new oil and rubber

Just put on Pirelli MT70s today. Also changed oil to Castrol R4 full
synth.
The tires look and feel jazzy so far, but I won't know about their
performance for a few days (100 mi.). The old rubber: stock Dunlop 750 up
front, IRC GP110 in back.
As for the new blood, The Mule seems to like it: the engine and
transmission noticeably run quieter and smoother(Of course, the loosening of
my tight valves may have something to do with that change). Feels
good............
