[dsn_klr650] model identification

Take a look at the countershaft sprocket...if the cover isn't slotted you'll have to remove. If it has a large nut instead of two small bolts you have a '96 or later and that is what is important... I see in the archives people talk about an A10, > A12 etc. If I am unsure of the bikes year of manufacture (It was > first registered in 96, but coule be a 95 model), how do I tell > which "A" model it is? Can I look at the engine number?
