swiftwater rally
I (and my 13 year old son) were at the Swiftwater Rally and had a
FABULOUS time!! It's been pretty busy since I got back and haven't
had
time to post much about it, but since you asked... There wasn't any
real trail riding stuff for the "hard core" off road types (which was
OK by me) but hundreds of miles of forest service roads and two track
in some truly breath-taking country. It was kind of smoky though from
all the forest fires around but still an amazing part of the country
to ride through! Met some listers and several who were not on the
list
before (are you here now?). Much Kudos to Tim and Sherry Bernard and
friends for hosting the rally!! Great BBQ and hope to see you next
time!!
Also, I have the Corbin seat (thanks to the previous owner of my
bike)
and yes it is much lower. Nice around town for commuting but MUCH to
firm and sloped for comfortable long distance riding. I took the
cover
off mine and added a gel pad and some softer foam in the dipped down
part (much like the modified Corbin you can order from them) and it
is
still lower than stock and now quite comfortable. With a sheepskin
and
Tim Bernard's highway pegs it is comfortable enought for all day
riding. I rode from Portland OR to Swiftwater and back (White Bird ID
aprox. 430 miles one way) with my son as passenger and we had no
complaints. (It's still no Gold Wing but...)
