campout time in october, maybe september

Listeros Amigos, It's time once again to post the idea of a Northern California campout. You certainly won't be able to beat the late September or October weather around here, and I thought that maybe some of you guys from as far away as Nevada, Oregon, Washington, or wherever might be interested in having a fun campout for a three day weekend or more. I'm interested in reaching a consensus on a date....Anytime during late September or October, even November, is going to be real nice up there. Only thing I have planned is DelMar weekend in San Diego, which I believe is the first weekend in October. What I am proposing (and of course am interested in hearing anyone else's views on the subject) is a stay at Middle Creek Campground out of Upper Lake which is east of 101 by about 25 miles as the crow flies, north of Upper Lake by about 15 miles. There are big stores like Safeway and Wal-Mart in Lakeport about 25 miles away (I'm thinkning steaks and beer, etc.). There is a ton (a lotta) off-road, dirt road, and nice paved road riding ... in fact, Middle Creek is a CA OHV staging area, with huge riding area encompassing thousands of acres, and the campground is only $4 a night and has running water with a big creek with lots of trails running right through it. It's a nice pavement ride, 35 miles or so (best twisties you'll ever see - in fact, quite dangerous!) to the Hopland Brewery, home of Red Tail Ale, and also a beautiful dirt road ride up to Lake Pillsbury, not to mention having the Snow Mountain Wilderness at your throttle hand...it's laced with dirt roads with lots of water crossings over several forks of the Eel River. Not to mention Cow Mountain which isn't far away either. Easy ride from anywhere like Sacramento or Reno or Klamath Falls or Eugene. Anybody wish to participate? Barbecue Bill knows how to eat in the woods. B-B-Q Bill ps Mark, what's the story with the foot?
