so after my foot surgery, i limped around in the shed long enough to put the stage 2 bits in the carb (#150 main jet instead of #140 and circlip on position 3 instead of 4), and i went with 10 discs in the muffler. This feels pretty darn good so far. i have no hesitation or stumbling or knocking of any kind, anywhere, under any conditions, plus the bike pretty much goes and stuff. i accidentally wheelied even (first time my front wheel has been off the ground). there is a pretty significant low-end punch now, from right around 2000 rpm in 2nd the bike pulls pretty hard, whereas before it used to have to be in 2500-3000 range to not be cranky when i gassed it going uphill. definitelly more midrange and probably some high end too. the bike certainly feels smoother and better at 5000-6000 rpm, but maybe that's my imagination. i think i know why people get crappy gas mileage after jetting their klrs. it's just so fan to yank on the throttle all the time. i find myself slowing down randomly, just so i can crank it open again. woohoo! mw
