Wilsons Sandbox

On my way home from work yesterday I was cruising down the 60 freeway and all of a sudden my bike felt different.. I kept looking at the tires because it was handling different, but nothing was wrong.. So finally I pulled over and got off the bike. That's when I realized that the bolt underneath the handle bars had come loose. It was jiggling all around. It didn't come off because the handle bars were in the way.. So I tightened it as much as i could along side the road and went on my way. When I got home I noticed that there is a space underneath it that i don't think belongs there. I took off the bars and tried to tighten it but the space is still there.. and suggestions? I wish that i could take it to someone around here and show them because it is kinda hard to explain. But I am sure everyone around here is at the roundup. I have to work this weeked so i am not able to go So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks Dale Y2K KLR with 12700 miles
