> Hi! Do You sell or do you know of a softer rear shock spring for thestock
KLR 650 rear shock? For my weight and useage the stock springon minimum
preload is stiffer than I want. Also with lowering linksand stock muffler
will I have clearance problems with 130/90/17street tires? I havent found
matching front and rear street onlytires available in 90/90/21 with
130/80/17 rear.

all you have to do is to raise your hand and you'll receive about 500 used
shock springs from listers who've jettisoned theirs...seriously, yours is
the first request I can remember for a lighter spring. I'd call Mike Walburn
at Dual Star to see what he thinks. Mike is going to be the exclusive
supplier for a spring/shock setup that is 11/2 inches shorter than the
stock. It will eliminate the need for lowering links and will lower the bike
and limit travel so clearance problems shouldn't be an issue. I doubt you
will have clearance problems with the links. The only problems I had were
with my MT-21's...a very aggressive off-road tire.
Here is a link to Gino's Laser Pro Duro review
www.xmission.com/~ajax/index.html ...I haven't heard from Fred on the latest
concerning his attempts to become a dealer...Fred?

Unless things have changed in the past couple years... Metzler made a couple
street only tires I loved:
ME-33 laser on the front and ME-1 Comp-K on the back... I think that's what
they were. They stick like absolute velcro! Mileage isn't that great on the
comp-K but then high mileage shouldn't be the primary criteria of a "good"
bike tire.

i had a set of these on my klr. i ran about 30 psi,
and did mostly road. they were good tires. i think
they are comparable and maybe slightly better then the
gripsters but ive been going with avons because they
are cheaper.
