oregon backcountry discovery route

Post by Tom Myers » Tue Aug 22, 2000 1:38 pm

Hi Listers, Just got back from the Oregon Backcountry Discovery route. Just two of us, Me on XR400, Zander on a KTM Adventure. Anyway, the route is incredible. 953 miles from Cave Lake CA to Walla Walla WA. That's all I can say - words do not describe. BRAVO - OOHVA! Saw no other users following the route. No motorcycles, no ATVs, no Jeeps. I used an eMap. Zander used a GPSIII+. GPS RULED!. We never would have finished in five nites without GPS. It's signed pretty well, especially in the beginning. Maybe 600 miles of signed turns which was a treat. GPS was essential to finishing the route in five days. Without GPS you would not finish. I have a mountain of work to do. When somewhat caught up I'll post a webpage with some details. Please bug me about the website, but beyond that I can't promise much help during the next week or so.
