I haven't any experience with the AV33/AV34 on the KLR but in the past year many folks had these tires fail (sidewalls split out quickly) on the BMW R1100GS. I have never had problems with the Gripster AM24s on the R100GS or on the KLR. Perhaps Avon has remedied the 33/34 problem? At 04:34 AM 8/20/00 -0000, Luke wrote:

Damn, i hope they don't split out on my bike! They'll have to scape me off a canyon floor somewhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I love those tires on the highway(so far). They are very sticky on wet or dry pavement and allow limited off road use. A buddy of mine did try to order them and was told that one or both of them had been discontinued, though. The Cooper Tire / Avon website still lists them... I hope they are safe. I have about 1500 miles on mine and love them on the street so far. I guess there are other choices for 90/10 use but I like these. Jim Jackson II A13 - South Carolina
