(I haven't any experience with the AV33/AV34 on the KLR but in the past year many folks had these tires fail (sidewalls split out quickly) on the BMW R1100GS. I have never had problems with the Gripster AM24s on the R100GS or on the KLR. Perhaps Avon has remedied the 33/34 problem?) Sorry, but never had this problem with those tires. I ran 2 sets to about 14 to 15 K miles each and traded the '95 R11GSA in with a set that had 7K miles on them. Run them from 100 mph crossing Montana to the ore trails of Big Bend in the Summer to the back rocky trails of Arkansas with no problems. Lite cupping on the front and cut a good gash on a back one with rocks in Arkansas. But it still held up for my 500 mile trip back home with a full load of camping equipment.
