crash report nklr
Took the bike out scouting this weekend. Great mount though I need saddle
bags to lower the CG. The high mounted gear made her sluggish, which
aggravated the response to a car rounding a corner in the middle of the
gravel road I was on. Going slow enough but when the front tire washed out
as I steered for heavier gravel on the inside of the turn, I realized we
were going to hit. I bailed for the inside of the corner and walked away
with only a bruised knee. Bike ended up with the car's front tire bending
the cowling back somewhat and leaving just a little rubber on the fork tube.
Lady in the car mused that she probably should have been on her side of the
road. Fired the bike up and continued the ride thankful for protective gear
and looking forward to the Darien pants that should arrive tomorrow. Upside
is that with my modified design sport cowling, the wind noise was less.
