I put a red flag (aircraft "Remove Before Flight" flag) on one of
those small carabiners some people use as key rings. When the lock is
off the bike, I put the flag on the lock. When the disk lock is
installed, I clip the flag to my bike keys. This not only reminds me
to remove the lock, but helps me to find my keys in my backpack and
my lock in my saddlebags easily.
Along with the disk lock, I occasionally use a heavy Kryptonite cable
to lock the beast to something large and secure or just wrap it
through the frame and both tires as a bit more of a deterent.
