Good Day Gino, Glad you made it back from the Badlands. Too bad you haven't learned to recognize the merits of BMW ownership. Don't trouble me with the few bad things that BMW represents. Hey, replacing a driveshaft every now and then......its good for the economy! Look for the Good. Just take a gander at the new ad campaign about the 1150GS. Here is a guy in the desert with his clothes hanging off of his scoot and the "Miraculous BMW" doesn't even make an impression in the soft sand. Try that with a puny KLR......why, I bet you leave tracks at least 6 inches deep! No wonder BMW is a multi-time Paris-Dakar winner! German Engineering and Madison Avenue's ability to capture the true spirit and romantic attraction of Dual Sport and Adventure Touring is simply marvelous. And, now that you have the "official outfit" of BMW'dom with your spiffy new red Darien, you too are welcome to join the brotherhood (or is it klan, klique, klatsch,or kludge). Knot - still shiftless, shaftless (and clueless) ps: And don't give us that line about the stiff Darien. We all know you were trying to give it the "well worn" look to avoid poseur status on your new 1150GS (or will it be the F650GS/PD?). pss: I heard that BMW will be offering a new winch or jack (to help lift it) with each new 1150GS purchase. Woody trim package is sold out for the year....sorry.

You got me there. The red Darien and white Shoei Syncrotec are bound to fool a few people into thinking I ride a BMW. Fortunately, I can take pride in telling them I ride a real bike, a KLR650. PS. At least I didn't succumb to total geekdom by getting the Hi-Viz Lime Yellow Darien.
