klr650 engine longevity

Has anyone swapped on a lerger fairing or added a windshield to a KLR600 ?? I have a 1984 KLR 600 with 15000kms on it and I drive on the highway everyday. (150KMS) I can handle my MT21s, the 14 tooth sprocket, and the tweety pipe. The WIND is driving me nuts now especially now that it is getting colder. Greetings, I'm new to the group. I'm thinking of buying a KLR 650 and read on one homepage the engine is good for only 30K miles. Is this true? My current ride is Kaw Concours and its motor isn't even broken in by 30,000! TIA, John
