product eval "plastic renew"

Post by klrbud@aol.com » Sun Aug 13, 2000 8:05 pm

This is my first written eval on a product that I recently tried. The PLASTIC RENEW cost about $15.00 or so. My KLR650 was starting to get these "faded" spots on my front fender. To me it looks like the plastic is loosing it's nutrients that cause the shine and color to come out. Here is what I got a wad of steel wool, 3 or 4 grades of sandpaper, paper towel and the Bottle of "STUFF." I followed the directions by sanding the surface from course to smooth sandpaper then using the steel wool to get the fine scratches out. Then I applied the "STUFF" in the bottle. The "stuff" smelled kinda familiar to me. I kept thinking then it hit me. It was NON-BUFFING FLOOR WAX!!!!! just like I used when I was an Airman to buff floors. Well, I went back to the shop I bought it from and they did take it back and refunded my $$$. Now I have a front fender w/floor wax on it. YUCK If someone has a better idea of how to polish plastic let the secret out. O'yeah I tried PLEXUS POLISH and that did not work. Silicone Spray in a can seems to work the best so far.
