[dsn_klr650] hell's half acrelisters
I just returned from that area and rode part of the Hells Half Acre trail
as well as others. It is HOT! You also need to watch out for logging
trucks and tractors! I was run off the road by one. It is amazing how
fast those guys can go on dirt and gravel. Not sure it was intentional but
it sure seemed like it!
If you do not have one already, pick up a copy of the USFS map of the
Stanaslaus National Forest. This map is the only one that I have found
that shows all of the Forest Road designators. This, along with a good
Topo Map and a compass will make it pretty hard to get or stay lost.
It's beautiful country! Enjoy your ride.
Joe

Has anyone ridden Hell's Half Acre Road in California between Hwys. 108 and
4? Any advice?
IT'S HOT, REAL HOT, especially today Aug 1. That's why they call it hell.
Bring WATER, lots of WATER!!!! I never been there on a bike just a truck.
