poor guy, he asks what the tube is for and we're telling him it is part of the canister system, part of the petcock etc. ...we've got to do better. He's talking about the so-called overflow/vent tube on the upper side of the carburetor...it vents the float bowl. Contrary to another listers report when I put my finger on the end of the tube my bike stopped nearly immediately. I'm wondering if the long vexing question about the rain stalling isn't right in front of us.... Kurt> > > What is the purpose of that line? stalling in the rain-----poor guy
No sweat fellas'....Steve Anderson cleared this up for me
almost immediately.....and he's never even rode his KLR in
the rain.....just a very knowlegeable fellow.
I sure do appreciate all the feedback.
The bottom line is; I cut the crazy thing in half and my troubles are gone.
I can ride in 1.5 feet of water now with no problems....until I fall over.
I am, however, surprised that this was never seen as a design problem.
It is the king of multi-purpose....unless your purpose is to ride
in heavy rain or deep water.
Thanks again kind people,
Ken Trull
